I made these before and they were really good but really, really rich and a bit too sweet. Has anyone made them w/ not so much of the sugar or butter? How much did you use, and did you like it that way? Thanks.
I make them with about 1/2 to 1/4 of the sugar called for, 1/2 the butter and apple juice instead of Mountain Dew. I've never made them any other way, but everyone always raves about them...
I make them with 1/4 cup less sugar only (so 1 1/4 c instead of 1 1/2 cup) and they are still so good but not as super sweet (but still sweet). You gotta make it with all the butter and stuff! That's what makes it SO GOOD!
BTW, my DH took those into work for a dessert contest last month and won first prize!
