Preemies

The answer to the pic caption post below...

"Mommy, I fell off the couch and got rug burn on my head."

Yup, I let my baby fall off the couch on to her head.  I could be the worst preemie mother in existence.  We have one of those natural fiber rugs which put the pattern on her head.   So, there was no way to make myself feel better about her falling off the couch by saying, "oh, she probably fell on her butt."  Nope, I have proof she fell right smack dab on top of her head.

Luckily for both of us, she cried for a few minutes then was fine.  It didn't even get red except for the rug burn.  Our couch is very low so she didn't fall far.  I guess I learned my lesson: don't leave baby (who by the way receives PT and one of her goals is to roll from her back to her belly because she has NEVER done it) on the couch where she can roll off even to just go turn the coffee pot on...

  • Aw, but at least it wasn't the curling iron or hair plugs!
  • wow, falling to the rug left that mark?  yes, better than the waffle iron, but i wouldn't have guessed it.

well does that mean she can roll over now?

  • Yay Campbell can roll!!! Don't worry... I once left Emma laying on the front seat of the car and she scooted herself right off onto the floor, and on her head. Whoops.

  • I'm glad she's okay.  I think we're all guilty of that in some shape or form, it definitely doesn't make you a bad mom.  I'm trying to train myself now to not leave DS on the edge of the bed or his changing pad in anticipation of him starting to roll over.
