Re: pear juice ?

  • Does pear juice help with constipation?

  • I don't know...I normally just feed pureed pears or prunes.

  • It does....so does prune juice and apple juice. And yes, I dilute all juice for dd. She has chronic constipation issues, so as per my pedi's advice, dd gets 2 oz of juice diluted with 2 oz of water daily. As long as she drinks that over the course of the day, she's "good to go." ;-)
  • Depends. How much do you like to do laundry? Undiluted pear juice is...explosive. At least for Joseph. But Joseph can look at a pear and sh1t himself.
  • The baby book says to dilute to 50/50 - so I would do at least that.
  •  You know, you can also do water with brown sugar. That works great for DS. I give him 3-4oz of water and pour a teaspoon of brown sugar.

  • Ditto the brown sugar. My pedi recommended dark Karo syrup. I have a little tray of medicines in his room. Baby tylenol, motrin, gas drops, teething tablets, teething gel, Karo syrup. It's like I'm ready to bake a pecan pie in his room at any moment.
