Jack short for...

DH and I love the name Jack but DH is dead set against giving a "nickname" as the birth name. I know many Johns go by Jack, but are there any other given names that can be "nicknamed" to Jack? Personally I say we just name him Jack but whatever ;

DS is Jackson for the exact reason your DH is insisting upon. My DH would not agree to Jack on its own, and we did not want to name go with John. We primarily call DS Jack.

Yup loved Jack but wanted a longer name especially with our ln so went with Jackson

John usually, but I have an uncle named James who goes by Jack. I like Jack as a standalone too.

Love it as a NN for Jackson. One of my close friends is just "Jack" and I never thought twice about it.
