One of those days, complete vent inside

We had an IFSP meeting for DS2 today at 9:45.  I couldn't remember the woman who we scheduled it with so we called the case manager last week to cancel it.  She never returned our phone call.

DS1 had an IEP meeting today at his private school.  I called the district and left several messages trying to reschedule it, no one ever called me back.

I show up to DS1's school today,took me 30 minutes to get there with the traffic.  The lady says "oh I thought it was at 1pm" so she goes and checks and says "oh no it's 9:30" okay.  she checks her message and says "oh the school district called and said you asked to reschedule it and that they would call you".

Yep, I drove 30 minutes in traffic, sat at his school for 45 minutes all to find out noone was coming.  While I was there the OT called about DS2's IFSP.  Yep, she was at our front door.  I explained the situation and she gave me grief about rescheduling and that this has to be done.  She offered to reschedule for Thursday at 12:30.  I said, "I'm sorry I take my older son to school and am gone from 12-1".  She has the gall to say to me "Well this needs to get done, it has to be finished 1 month before his IFSP".  I got so annoyed I actually responded with "His IFSP isn't up until Sept 28.  What would you like to me to do? Take my son to school half an hour early and just leave him there?".  She said "Well if your mother is with the kids now why can't she just take him on Thursday?".  I'm really sick of this woman, if I had to see her more than this one time I would probably be seeking out a new provider.

And then I got to come home at 11 and leave at 12 to take DS1 to school.

Wow, she sounds really lovely. It's way out of line of her to opine on who should watch your kids. If you can't make it they reschedule- end of story. I remember several times having to reschedule meetings beyond the federally prescribed time limits and simply having to sign a waiver saying it was okay and due to scheduling. Hope you don't have to deal with her again!
