Weight gain

I have always been on the lighter side of average weight and try to eat healthy. However, I cannot seem to gain weight. I am at 24 weeks and according to my scale, I have gained 7 lbs so far. I did start off a bit heavier due to IVF but that was maybe 5 lbs. Any tips on gaining weight? I try to eat something every two hours a protein and a carb and have regular meals. I am not having any nausea and my morning sickness only lasted to week 10. Food is just not appealing.

Re: Weight gain

  • I gained weight very slowly at first and packed it on towards the end.
  • Are you eating fish I have been eating Salmon once a week, tons of fuit, salads and steaks.Maybe having a protein shake in the morning i have them they are rich in nutrients too, even a homemade smoothie of your favorite fruits. Also an egg salad here and there might help... I dont like ice scream but lately i have this weird Vanilla ice cream craving lol... I am struggling with gainning weight a little as well but all we can do is try to eat a little more and be positive... Oh i almost forgot rice! I dont know if you like rice but that definately helps i have been including it a little more on my diet and i gained 2 pounds already. Well good luck to you I hope this helps :

    Same for me.

I ate a ton of greek yogurt, which has a bunch of protein in it.

  • First off: is your doctor concerned? Because women can range from loosing weight to gaining tons of weight. and all along the scale can be healthy, so make sure you aren't trying to pack on unnecessary pounds, which can be unhealthy for you and babies!

I have only gained a small amount but my twins are growing just fine; so they aren't worried at all.

    Second: Greek yogurt, rice, potatoes.
