DH and I have a call with a nanny placement agency tomorrow. DD currently goes to a lovely daycare center but we're getting sick of being sick all the time. We've decided to look into possibly having a part time nanny (about 30 hours per week). It's a very preliminary phone call, we're not committing to anything or even starting the process of searching for a candidate. We're just getting the opportunity to get an idea of how the whole having a household employee thing goes.
I know that we'll be paying between $15-$17/hour and that we'll have a fee of about $3000 to the agency. They'll do the search, the background checks, and set up interviews. Beyond that, I don't really know what to expect.
What are some questions that I need to ask the agency? I'm kind of drawing a blank other than how much is this going to cost, and how will I know the nanny will be trustworthy?
