So do you recommend both books, or would I be able to get the information I needed from just one of the two?

Ready or Not, Here we Come is a quick, funny read with some really practical tips.
Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child has some great info on sleep cues and schedule, be we didn't implement any true sleep training.
Happiest Baby on the Block is great for some practical tips, but it's pretty wordy. I'd skim it.
