Getting a shower

Now that DS is transitioning to one nap a day, I find myself not getting a shower until noon. Has anyone found a safe way to get a shower while LO is awake? (I know I could do night showers, but we usually go on a long walk/jog in the morning so it wouldn't help the situation.)

I have my bathroom baby-proofed and I let him play in there while I shower (quickly).  He likes to pull out all my tampons

I let her play in the baby proof bathroom too.  She usually plays peekaboo with me behind the shower curtain and pulls out tampons.

My son loves to take showers with me now.  He doesn't like the water to directly hit him, but he stands at the opposite end and plays with a cup and wash cloth.  I haven't given him a bath all summer now that he showers daily.

Not sure if your ticker is up to date, but my DD is 18M and will sit and play in her pack n play for about 20 min before freaking out.  Maybe try that?

Either wake up earlier and take a shower before you get LO out of the crib in the morning, or take LO into the shower with you. LO's been showering with me since around 4 months when she could sit up on her own. once in a while when she is covered in dirty or food i'll give her a quick shower before bed with out getting in there with her

I put him in a pack n play (which I pull into the bathroom) with toys.  Unforunately he doesn't last too long though.

I have to take DD in the shower with me. She LOVES water, so leaving her out isn't an option - she just tries to jump in with me anyway.  I don't do that too often - usually just after going to the pool.  I try to do night time showers or just deal with fact that I am not taking one until after lunch.

I shower when she eats breakfast if I want to shower alone, otherwise I shower with DD. She loves the shower and she rarely gets a bath now- so much easier.

Usually, I just wait for nap time. Makes for a smelly morning since I go to the gym first thing in the morning, but it's what works best for us. If I absolutely have to shower in the morning (like we have somewhere to be and I can't be a disgusting mess) I either put on an episode of Play With Me Sesame and leave him on the couch (he sits for at least 15mins, sometimes more) or I'll put him in the pack and play with some toys (he screams the whole time and throws the toys out).

Our bathroom is at the end of a long hallway with our office. I put a baby gate at the end if the hallway and one at the bathroom door and put him in with some toys. It's also how I get to work out since the treadmill is in the office. Now that he's a little older he also sometimes showers with me.

I am fortunate that most days I can get up and showered before DS wakes up. But on the weekends when I sleep in, I just let him play in the bathroom while I shower.

When I am alone with the kids and have to shower, they get gated upstairs with me. DS usually occupies DD long enough for me to shower. Or she comes over, pulls the curtains back and throws foam letters in the tub.

I put him in the pack and play with a cartoon on the Tv. He doesn't watch much Tv so it keeps him occupied but he doesn't like to be in there long.

I have a clear shower curtain and DD usually sticks close. I usually shut the bedroom door, but I figure she's fine wandering around. If I'm taking a bath, she will sit on the step and talk to me.

My daughter is almost 17 months and I'll put her in the pack n play in our room close to the bathroom with a few books/toys/baby einstein on in the background and she's good for 20-30 min (not that I shower this long, but at least I can get my hair dry too!).  Or I bring her in.  Have been showering with her since she was a month or so old.  She's getting pretty daring about climbing onto the toilets so I'm not quite comfortable just having her play in the bathroom while I shower!

I usually shower at night. But if I have to shower during the day, I just shut the bathroom door [and open the window so it doesn't get hot] and let him go through the baby safe cabinet. Usually he just stands on the end of the tub and throws things in and pulls in curtain open and closed, though. If I shower right after breakfast, I bring him in with me. He'll sit at the end and play with a cup or container while I shower.
