XP: Move to crib during sleep regression?

Posted on AP, too.

Is it wise to move DD from her cosleeper in our room to her crib while she's in the midst of a sleep regression? She's seven and half months and up until about two weeks ago, she was sleeping a good 10 to 12 hours a night, usually waking only once around 4. I didn't mind nursing her then because she'd sleep a good solid 8 hours beforehand. But now, she's learning to sit up, crawl, plus she's teething, so it's every 3 hours, maybe 4 if I'm lucky. I'm wondering if part of the issue is that I'm right next to her, but I'm a little leery of making the switch while she's in the middle of a regression.

Any thoughts? Should I give it a bit more time? She's been napping in her crib for awhile now, so it's a familiar place to her. The main reason I'm considering is because she seems to be sleeping much lighter than normal, which might be contributing to her frequent wake ups. DH or I repositioning in bed has been enough to wake her a few times now.

I was hoping to keep her in our room as long as I was nursing, about a year, but I don't know she'll last that long in there! Thanks for any advice!

We did the transition out of the swaddle in the middle of Jack's 4 month sleep regression.  We figured none of us were sleeping anyway. Then we did the transition to the crib during his 6 month growth spurt.  The crib transition was way easier than I thought. And personally, I think we timed it well for both.

I personally did not want to move him out of our room, but he was sleeping so poorly and like you said, even my shifting in bed made him stir.  He did much better in his own space and his own room.  He loves how roomy the crib is compared to his cosleeper.

    Good luck!

I agree, I have a feeling it'll be harder on me than her. She's so much more mobile now, and the crib gives her more room to flip flop around and get comfy. The ways she ends up sleeping in her crib are pretty hysterical at times, usually laying across the mattress instead of along it. It's just tough with the whole nursing thing because I don't know if she's needing to eat due to a growth spurt or just wanting to comfort nurse. If it's actual hunger, I'm worried putting her in a separate room will make her more stressed, but I can't really tell the difference until after she's been on the boob for 20 minutes (usually she eats in about 5 min).
