I went back to MFM today while I was there he checked my cervix and it had shortened. Last week I only had shortening when pressure was applied it went down to 2.4 now even with no pressure its at a 2.3 and gets worse with pressure. He did the ffn test or something and ill have results in the morning. He hooked me up for monitoriing and I had alot of strong contactions. So he admitted me to the hospital. My ob monitored my status here and said that she wanted to give me a shot to relax my uterus and a shot of steriods to help their lungs mature as well fluids. She said we will take it day to day and she said something about she wanted to keep me until 34 weeks. The shot to relax my uterus sucked i got so shaky and heart was pounding. So im waiting to see if anything changes by tomm and ill continue to pray and trust God. The hospital I am has a great nicu but wont deliver below 30 wks so id be transfered but I pray that I wont need to worry about that. Any words of advice or anyone that can give me some success stories I would love that.
Edit: oh and I am 28 weeks3days today.
Re: Admitted to L and D
If it any comfort I was in a similar position at 24wks, but the ffn came back negative so they gave me the shots to relax my uterus and my contractions slowed down. I've been stable since. The shot sucks though. I was a mess with it
Sending prayers! Try to stay calm!
I was admitted at 25 weeks after they couldn't get my contractions under control. The ob said my cervix was open a finger tip. She did the ffn which came back negative. She admitted me for IV magnesium to stop contractions. I had the steroid injections the day before per MFM. After three days in the hospital everything was under control and my cervix was no longer open a finger tip. By transvag u/s it had shortened some. I was able to go home on sbr. I continued having contractions but have been stable. In the month I've been home I've made one trip back to L and D for contractions. Tonight contractions are picking up but just trying to rest. Try to not stress! The medications suck but work.
