Hi all! Congrats to all the soon to be mama's here. I'm hoping you don't mind me asking this here.
I'm no stranger to IUIs.. ha see siggy!.. but we're going to try menopur injects with IUI here after our break. I have an appt with my RE tomorrow and am wondering if you can think of any questions to ask him, or any insight for me.
I've used injects briefly for three days during a mix cycle, so I kind of know what to expect as far as shots go.
If you've done injects, how many days did you stim for, and how was your response? Did you get cancelled? How many US were involved? Did you ultimately have success from injects + IUI?
Thanks! Sorry for formatting, mobile bumping sucks!
Re: lurker from IF, injects + iui questions
I really didn't find it too uncomfortable stimming...slightly swollen and bloated by the end, but manageable. Shots themselves weren't bad...quick dart is important! Otherwise the best advice the pharmacist gave me was to mix the solution and let the syringe sit for about a minute. She said sitting lets the bubbles settle and minimizes burning. I never ever felt that it burned going in and I didn't ice or anything either.
Good luck, hope this helps!!
Hi there! I had success from my IUI with injectables and oral meds. This was my second cycle with injects you will stim for as long as the doc sees fit. I ended up stimmimg longer than originally planned so last minute we scrambled to get more medication. I went for my first monitoring appt on CD10 and went back every other day until things looked good to go. Of course you trigger 36 hours before your IUI.
My last cycle didn't look too good to be honest and the doctor was very negative about it working but we ended up with our BFP. Good luck to you!!
