Hi there, I've been posting on the multiples board and sometimes the October birth month. I'm 28 weeks with identical twin boys. My baby B has selective IUGR so I'm being monitored closely to see if it will be necessary to deliver early. I also have GD and Graves Disease (hyperthyroid). I look forward to getting to know you all.
Re: New to the Board
Identical twins, how cute :
I also have graves but currently in remission. I've always wonder how a pregnancy would be if I were to every fall out of remission while pregnant. What treatment are you on for it?
The Graves has actually been the least of my worries! I waited to TTC until my levels were stable (with meds) and got the go ahead from my Endo. I was on PTU and switched in 2nd tri to methimazole. I'm on a very low dose now and being weaned off. My endo says it is common to be able to come completely off meds during late pregnancy. My understanding is that there is some extra monitoring necessary if you have active Graves antibodies during pregnancy because they can cross the placenta and affect the baby but luckily this was not the case for me. I'll have to be monitored closely after delivery because they thyroid could get crazy.
Thanks Wallace, I've been following your story on the multiples board. Glad we've all made it this far and hoping for several more weeks!
