Re: Third-Party Reproduction Check-In!

  • Hi all!I've got a crazy work week I'm in the TWW well, with a FET is can be as short as a 5day wait, so I'm hoping for that: hence the early posting of the checkin. Not much to report other than our FET went great, and we're now waiting for a BFP! I'm feeling pretty confident, just on a few signs that seem to remind me of the last pregnancy. However, it could be wishful thinking... I'm a POAS'er, so hopefully we'll have good news soonnbsp;Tuesday is 5dp6dt. Beta is on Saturday, 7/27.QOTW: Sunday nights have become such a drag anxiously awaiting the return of Breaking Bad and Walking Dead. Missing Mad MN, Game of Thrones, and some sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother and Parks and Rec.

  • Hi all.  We just saw our new RE again on Saturday.  My old clinic did not send very thorough records for him to review so we're essentially starting from scratch.  He did a full exam, ultrasound and bloodwork.  The ultrasound showed a few antrafollicles and a couple on each side growing.  One was really big and he said I was either ready to ovulate or it was a cyst.  To be safe, he suggested having sex all weekend, which made DH happy.  Ha!  It was only CD7 though so I'm willing to bet it was a cyst.  I have to call this afternoon to find out the results of my bloodwork but he said he won't be able to make any recommendations until I come in for CD3 testing next month.

DH and I are still up in the air about using a DE.  If we decide to pursue it, I will definitely take the advice of several of you and see a therapist that deals with IF and donor situations.  I'm beginning to feel as though we could be ok with one child, even though it's not what we had planned.  That changes daily though.  Sometimes the thought of not giving DD a sibling and not being able to experience pregnancy again is devastating.

Best of luck to all of you and thank you for being so welcoming and supportive.

DD conceived naturally in 2009.  TTC #2 since August 2010.  Praying for guidance as we decide what's next.

When the world says, "Give up,"

Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."

Hello all! I need to be more active on this board! I actually don't know if I ever posted an introduction...

DW and I are happily married (not legally according to my State) for almost two years now. She is my soul mate and best friend and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars for my relationship with her. DW and I are using DS and AI at-home without medication. We're very excited.

Check in: DW and I will be beginning our ttc journey on the next cycle (I can't believe I'm saying this!!) which is supposed to be very end of August, early September. I'm currently CD 6 and hoping that this cycle is similar to last month. I see an acupuncturist and chiropractor in hopes that it will help our chances of success.  I can't wait!

QOTD: Oh man, I don't have cable anymore, so I'm limited to regular tv, hulu plus and netflix. I'm dying for Grey's Anatomy to come back on. I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right now!

    Take care!

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.

    • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
    • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN
    • Taking a few months off to evaluate if we want to keep trying

No big update here - just excited to still be carrying our sweet DE baby boy.

QOTW:  Cannot wait for Homeland to come back on in the fall!  Also Glee - though it will be hard to see what they will do since the main star passed away.  :(

Oh yes, Glee! I love that show and I am really wondering how they are going to address Cory's death :( I feel like they always do a really good job with the tough subjects.

  • We had 17 embryos fertilize of our 37 eggs collected.  They told us ahead of time to hope for a fertilization number around 50% when you get that many eggs, so we feel pretty good about 17.  They are growing them undisturbed until tomorrow (day 5) and then they will take a peek and give us the report as well as tell us if we are doing ET that day or the next day.

Today is going to be torture.

QOTW: I'm desperately waiting for SMASH and Scandal to come back.

  • Hi ladies,

2mamaz: FX that you are KTFU! I soooo want this for you! Glad you are a POASer, I am too. :)

Sharon: Good luck with the decision making and I hope you find that a therapist helps you. It helped us a lot in our decision.

Goalies: Excited for your upcoming cycle! Loads of luck!

moonaggie: Glad your pregnancy is going well!

LittleLady: Wonderful numbers, girl!!! I hope your report is fantastic.

Melkel: Ahhh! So exciting! I hope your appointment is wonderful.

AFM: I have the same update that I've had for months now. My embryos "might" ship soon. I'm so frustrated, and had a total meltdown on Thursday night. Cryfest is more like it. I'm so frustrated. :( Being on BCPs indefinitely has not helped my mental state. One day I'll have good news to share. Hopefully!

QOTW: Lost. Lost was the best show ever. They ruined the ending, but up until then I couldn't get enough of it!

  • Check in: We got all of our pre-cycle testing done as did our carrier. Once the clinic has all of the results in and we are all OK'd to do this, DH and I can schedule a meeting with the lawyer to start writing the legal contract. It is still surreal that someone is actually going to do this for us. I'm having a really hard time accepting or believing this will work out after everything we've been through and I don't think I will really be excited until we at least get a contact signed. I am still convinced she is going to back out at any second (although, rationally, I know she won't),

QOTW: DH and I are in love with Falling Skies right now. I also think Modern Family is hilarious.

    TTC since April 2010

Surprise BFP #3 – December 2011, diagnosed as cornual, terminated January 2012
    BFP #4 – June 2012, m/c July 2012
Diagnosed with bicornuate ute and MTHR gene mutation
    BFP #5 – October 2012, missed m/c November 2012
    BFP #6 – January 2013, m/c March 2013
No longer TTC. Diagnosis: Hostile ute. Heartbroken and bitter. Pursuing surrogacy.
June 2013 - Carrier found! Could this really happen?!

  • GL to all waiting for cycle results, Congrats to those preaparing/moving forward with DE.  Hoping that all ladies currently waiting will fast forward to being ready for their cycle to begin!!  Hugs to anyone who needs them!!

What is your update? Do you have any dates not reflected in the check-in?  We had our Quad screen last Saturday, was notified on Thursday that we screened + for Down's Syndrome.  We had our 20w u/s scheduled for 7/31, but that has now been changed to a Level 2 u/s tomorrow and a meeting with genetics person.  We are nervous, my OB said if they found any soft markers for Down's they would recommend an amnio.  I am very nervous about the idea of this test, because of the risk of membrane rupture.  We will be asking if Maternit21 or Harmony is Diagnostic, and if so, if it's still an option for us.  On a happy note, hoping to find out tomorrow if we are team pink or team blue.

    - How are you feeling?  Heartburn is my second tri worst nightmare.  Seems to stick with me all the time, and even wakes me up from sleep!

QOTW: What are your favorite tv shows and what are you missing/waiting 2for to return?   I'm not a big tv watcher.  However, I am waiting for the season premiere of Castle.

First, big hugs to anyone that needs them!!  And good luck to 2mamaz and anyone else that is currently in the 2ww!

AFM, I just did my first Lupron shot to prepare for my upcoming FET cycle (yea!)  I'm so happy to "finally" be moving forward after being benched for so long.  Anyway, my baseline is scheduled for 8/5 and transfer is estimated around the end of August.

QOTW:  I'm anxiously awaiting the return of quite a few CBS shows (How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly to name a few).  I'm also glad that Guiliana and Bill are back and am waiting for new episodes of The Little Couple.  I really want to see them bring their little girl home from India...but am not sure when that is scheduled to come back.

Me: AMA, DOR, undetectable AMH, carrier of SMA, MTHFR homozygous C677T, high cytokines, low IGg B cells, Factor XIII V34l mutation, High Anti-Phosphatidylethanolmine, borderline hypothyroid and mildly insulin resistant.

MH: No known issues, aside from MTHFR.

Recommendations from RI: LIT, Humira, IVIG, Lovenox, Baby Aspirin, Folic Acid, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.

Currently taking:  Pre-Natal vitamins, Foltanx, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.

When cycling also taking: Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, Humira and IVIG.

TTC since 7/11/09..with medical intervention starting in 2010, including 4 failed IVF's and 6 failed IUI's...only "success" was a chemical pregnancy in 11/2012 (credited to use of DE).

    FET #1 (11th cycle) on 8/23/13 = BFN.

FET #2 (12th cycle) Transfer of last two (day 6) donor egg blasts on 1/22/14 = BFP, EDD = 10/10/14 (please stick little BOY!)

    Hi everyone!

As always, I have my FX for all of you in the 2ww or cycling! I have a feeling this board is going to have lots of happy news over the next few weeks!!

Happywife I am so very sorry to hear about your news. Please know I will be thinking of you. I hope upon further investigation all is well. Let us know how it goes.

Today we signed all of our consents and I was really disappointed to learn we will not be cycling as soon as I had thought. Unfortunately, all of my testing has expired and we will need to resubmit to insurance. I realize we are super fortunate to have some of this covered by insurance, but it is so frustrating to have to go through this part of the process over and over again. I am really glad we ended up with the donor that we did, but I can't help but think that if our 1st donor hadn't been MIA we would have cycled already....

So, I guess that realistically we are probably looking more like October.
I am hopeful that some of you ladies who are also waiting will get some amazing news and we will be cycling together in October! I think that would really be exciting!

QOTW: honestly, I barely watch tv! I do DVR Rachael Ray because I am obsessed with her!

Today is going to be torture.nbsp; QOTW: I'm desperately waiting for SMASH and Scandal to come back.nbsp;
Ugh SMASH got cancelled!! Can you believe it? The season finale was the series finale. So disappointed!

Hopefully!

Ugh! FX that the good news comes sooner than later.  I'm really rooting for you.

  • Good luck and FX for those in the TWW or waiting for embryos to ship or be matched to you.

This week I was officially approved as a potential egg donor.  My medical records are in and my profile should be up soon if it isn't already.  I have no idea how long it will be before I get matched, but hopefully soon!

TV:  Well, at the moment I don;t have an actual TV, but I love me some interwebs and I have been marathoning Dexter for the past few weeks.  I just finished season 5 and I hear it goes downhill after that, but I can't stop!

  • Hi Everyone. I am 9 days into my two week wait and it has been hard. I have had cramping each day I have been really tired. Just wishing Saturday will get here.

  • 2Mamaz:  Fingers crossed for you!! I hope you have good news to report from POAS. :-)

    GoaliesWife:  Welcome!

LittleLady:  That is an awesome fert report.  Let us know how many blasts you get!

    melkel:  How did it go??

Liz:  I am so sorry you're still delayed.  BCPs make me crazy, too.

HappyWife:  I hope everything's okay with your baby.  I'll be thinking of you.

Sam18:  Are you going to POAS?

    Hi to everyone else!!

My update is that I've reserved a new donor.  I love my original donor but I'm worried that the infection might not clear quickly, plus it isn't clear she can come back soon.  My agency has another donor that DH and I really like who just became available, so I've signed up with her.  It's been a really difficult decision, but I know myself, and if I have to wait 6 months I'm going to drive myself crazy. So the next cycle won't happen right away, but probably by early October, which I'm telling myself is right around the corner.

  • Sorry for the late check-in! Sounds like everyone is doing well. My (((hugs))) go out to anyone that needs them.

Update: we had a transfer of 2 on 7/12 and I had a faint line on the FRER last Thursday at 6dp5dt. Beta #1 at 7dp5dt was 29 and yesterday's beta at 10dp5dt was 203! So I guess it's official right now, I'm finally KU! I may ask for another beta just to confirm things, we'll see.

QOTW: I love me some Grey's Anatomy, and we like HIMYM. I watch Friends reruns all the time too, LOL. But outside of those we generally spend our weekends watching college & NFL football!

  • Congrats ceeMonkey that's fantastic news.

2Mamaz I hope everything is going well. I can't wait to hear the news.

Melkel and Happywife I hope everything went/goes well with your tests and you get the best news possible.

Liz4Paws it is cruel and unjust punishment that you must keep waiting for someone to simply ship your embryos.

Ditto for you KM672, it's a vicious circle you are stuck in.

Mrs4t all the best and good luck with your upcoming cycle.

    Good luck Sam18.

Brook I am so glad you picked a new donor. Best idea ever, and I hope this the one.

Becky, you have the patience of a saint.

Happy Graduation Sturdel, you're in the 2nd trimester!

    I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Update: I'm a little late, sorry.  I have had a sore throat and feeling feverish and flu-y for the last week, it's exhausting and I can't help but worry.  I always get sick at about this time in the pregnancies and find out several weeks later that it's over.  I'm trying to remain calm, but as I have not real symptoms other than boobs that come and go it's a bit tough.  I have asked for another beta, just to so that I can rest and relax.  My first u/s is not for another week. I'm waiting to hear back from clinic whether or not they will approve the extra test.

I'm off work until the 1st of August, maybe longer I'm not sure it depends.  Just trying to stay on a even keel.

QOTW:  I don't watch that much tv.  I do watch Netflix but it's limited where I am.  I miss Rescue Me and Bones and the Big C.  I watched them on Netflix but can't get the last seasons yet.  So frustrating

I finally got a call yesterday that our clinic is sending us a profile. I'm excited to get one but don't think she will be the one (don't want to just impulsively choose the first one they have, and her eye color is not what I want). It is their ONLY available donor right now. I'm seriously considering looking into a new clinic that has more donors I just hate leaving this RE we love him!

  • Hi All! Sorry, I've been away for a little while, DH and I were trying to decide what to do next. We decided not to travel to do another DEMB round in NY, so our decision is to wait until we hear from my local doctor to see when they might have embryos available for us. I emailed her last week, just as my usual check in to see how things are. She emailed back that her assistant, who knows the most about the program and would provide us with the best possible answer, was on vacation until this week. Well, she called yesterday and I was expecting to hear "probably about another 6-12 months before we have embryos for you." Instead, we were told "We have embryos for you!" She emailed the profiles, DH and I have a week to decide. I can't believe it. And the new came on the day before the anniversary of our 1st date (today) 15 years ago. Holy crap! Here we go again, possibly.

Now, the QOTD: We can't wait for the return of Elementary. However, we've still enjoyed the reruns this summer because they show is just that great. And thank goodness The Newsroom has returned on HBO. Awesome show!

SAIF/PAIF absolutely ALWAYS welcome to respond!
  • Check-in for week of July 22:

What is your update? Do you have any dates not reflected in the check-in?

DH and I just signed off on the paperwork for our donor.  I just had my last period last weekend and we will be away when I would traditionally ovulate this month, so we are starting a natural cycle IUI with my next cycle!!!  Predicted insemination date for somewhere between 8/28 - 8/31.  We know it is only a 10-12% chance each cycle, but we are certainly hopeful that the first time will stick (maybe, please, hopefully?)

    How are you feeling?

I'm feeling ecstatic!  DH is happy too, which makes me happier.  I know this has been really hard on him, so to see him smile just makes me so incredibly happy!

QOTW: What are your favorite tv shows and what are you missing/waiting for to return?

Hmmm, Let's see - I'm a TV addict.  Grey's Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, Revenge, Scandal, The Walking Dead.  I miss Fringe and Private Practice now - it's like I've lost family members!

  • Hi everyone!
No real dates- but I was approved for the study, so everything will be starting with AF sometime next week. Only I could manage to line up 3 IVF cycles to all land during finals week at school. Fall, Spring, and now Summer. I am renaming myself the queen of incompletes, since I usually apply for the extension to kill my stress level a little.

QOTW: Well, since hubby and I cancelled the cable subscription to pay for IVF #4, I'm missing all my shows. Still attempting to figure out hulu and hoping to get that conquered in time for Grey's and I kinda am looking forward to seeing the Carrie Diaries.

  • Our GS just had her water ultrasound today and everything looked great! She has her bloodwork Monday, and we should get a transfer date at that appointment. Hoping for a successful late August/early September transfer! It's hard to be excited when we've been disappointed so many times, but we're trying to be cautiously optimistic.

July 28 would have been my due date for my chemical pregnancy, so this weekend is a little rough.

QOTW: I've been loving Dexter and guilty pleasures - Pretty Little Liars and The Bachelorette. ((shame))
  • Hi ladies!

My update is that DH and I have handled the steroid situation really well and it's made us more open emotionally. Also we are meeting with our surrogate coordinator on 7/30!! I'm a bit scared and want to be sure to ask all the questions I have, but I'm also SO excited to be moving forward! Immediately after that I fly home to US for my sister's birth of her first child, so please keep me in your thoughts.

TV Show: We love "Scandal", we're still on season two because we live abroad, but being from DC originally its awesome! Also we watch an Afrikaans reality show called "Nege Maande" or "Nine Months" which follows nine South African couples/moms through pregnancy. DH actually likes it and its one way I'm working to gain fluency in Afrikaans which is his first language. It also gives us a low stress outlet to talk about fertility, birth and child rearing stuff which is really nice.
