Hashimoto's and TTC

Just found out I have hashimoto's but was given the ok to try conceiving our second child. Anyone else have this? I didn't have any issues with my first so I'm curious what others may have experienced...

Re: Hashimoto's and TTC

  • I don't have any first hand experience, but I have a friend with Hashimoto's who has a very happy 2 year old :). She knew she had it well in advance and was on meds for it.  It took her 1.5 years of trying, and one loss, before she had her daughter.  GL!

  • Hello!

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's around last year. I have yet to start TTC but from what I know, as long as you're taking your medication correctly you should be fine to conceive without much problems. I'm not sure if your doctor told you this but chances are that if you are on medication now, they will have to up your dose once you do become pregnant because it's essential that the baby gets enough of that hormone. Hope I helped some! Good luck!

  • I have no children yet, but I was dx with Hashi's last year. We are currently ttc. They say if your meds are regulated you should be fine. However, I was also told my symptoms would go away when I was on proper meds and they haven't. Everyone I talk to has had a completely different reaction and response to the disease and treatment. Good luck!
