Loooong Day Yesterday

Mobile: Loooong Day Yesterday

I felt really off yesterday; achy, tired, and out of it. After I had several random dizzy spells (I was sitting still in a chair and almost passed out), I called my doc. She was concerned about Pre-e, so she asked me to stop by L&D. It will be quick! They just want to take my BP and test my urine...

I was there for over 8 HOURS. They put me in a labor suite, hooked me up to the fetal, contraction, and BP monitors, tested my urine and blood, gave me IV fluids, etc.

The good news is that baby looks great!

The bad news is that baby girl is laying next to my artery, and cutting off my blood supply. So I will be randomly dizzy for the next few weeks.

Anyone else having lovely dizzy spells?

Re: Loooong Day Yesterday

  • The same thing has been happening to me this whole pregnancy. Turns out he's cutting off most of my blood flow to the left side! I hope you feel better! These dizzy spells are no joke! Take it easy!

  • I felt the same way yesterday. Today is better but glad I read this. I'll keep it in mind if it happens again and call the Dr.

If you are dizzy and have blurred vision, they like you to call. You could have pre-e, a UTI or kidney infection, you could be dehydrated, etc.

I get dizzy sometimes if I change position (ie. sit up too fast) or if I am very active. It was being dizzy when I wasn't doing anything that freaked me out.

I hope you feel better soon!

  • Yep, I've been getting dizzy for the last week.  Went to the doc for the dizziness last Monday, then back for my standard appointment Wednesday.  Both Docs said to eat more protein, especially in the morning, and that likely my iron was low.  I thought the artery issue was likely happening to me, too.

My blood pressure was fine though, so I'm trying the food route for a fix.

  • Oh you have to love going to the hospital. It's never quick! But yes this has been happening to me pretty frequently since about 20 weeks. When I asked my doctor about it she just kind of brushed it off and said it's pretty common. It is super annoying though. Never fun feeling like you're going to pass out, especially when you're already sitting down. Good luck; I hope it gets better!
  • My issue has been hypoglycemia. If I go too long without eating (which at this point is more than 2 hours) I get dizzy and shaky ugh

  • This has been happening to me all day. It probably doesn't help that I only slept 4 hours last night. I wonder if DD is laying on my artery too. I will ask the doc tomorrow.
