ER done

I am home from ER! It was our best one so far - 16 eggs! DH says he heard them say 18, but I am pretty sure it was only 16. Either way, it is more than we have had to work with before. I'm hoping a good number of them are mature because that is the problem we've dealt with before, as well as low fertilization. Thanks for all the well wishes!

I'm in a little more pain that I remember from my last cycles. RE said she had a hard time accessing one of my ovaries and had to "root around" to get at it.

I was annoyed at the anesthetist. They bring them in from a 3rd party company so you pay them directly on ER day. They give a discount for paying cash which the paper work I received prior said included personal checks. So we brought a check along, but while I'm in the stirrups the anesthetist proceeds to say that he won't take a check (since "50%" of his patients give him bad checks) and asks DH for a credit card. WHAT? I told him that the paperwork I'd gotten said checks were accepted and he disagreed. I got snarky at this point, but luckily I had brought the paper that clearly listed PERSONAL CHECKS on it. He ended up taking the check but had the nerve to ask me if it would clear.

Later as he was getting the IV in he asked if I was excited. I flatly said not really because this was not our first time. DH chimed in that it hadn't been an easy road for us. The anesthetist had the nerve to ask, so how many times have you done it? Rude. I just replied "too many" and then burst into tears. He didn't apologize and lamely just said, "well you'll be relaxed here in a minute." I think I sobbed until he put me under. Jerk.

But we got 16 (or 18?) eggs. :)

I'm so sorry that your anesthetist was a butthead.   It's sad that he doesn't have any compassion at all.  Hopefully your RE hears about this and will reconsider having him in his office.

16/18 eggs,  either way that's great news.  I hope you get a great fert report.  FX!  ((HUGS))
