Hello Ladies,
I thought to drop by and give you all an update on what happened today at the MFM. They did a biophysical and growth ultrasound and by God's grace both the babies passed the biophysical test with 8/8. Their breathing, movements, heartbeat everything seemed right on track. The only bad thing was their weight!!! I'm surprised because all this while they were weighing right on track. Baby A, girl, weighs 4 pounds and baby b, boy, weighs around 5 pounds. The MFM doctor said that they'll monitor me twice a week from now on and do biophysical ultrasounds during every visit. I feel terrible about it. It was shocking as well because I'm diabetic and usually babies end up being over weight. They plan to welcome these babies by 37w or maximum at 38w. However, I'm glad they didn't operate me last night and I still have sometime to cook these babies in my womb!
Any advices on how to make my twins gain weight in the womb would be helpful. It's really hard not to worry. I feel terrible as no matter what I do, I get to hear something bad. The doc also said that the twins might end up gaining an extra pound or two considering how far along I am, which is, 35w2d. What should I eat is another concern as I'm diabetic as well. Advices are always welcome. Thank you!
Re: Today's update...
TTC #1 since May 2010. BFP #1 - 5/31/10; m/c on 7/22/10
Started seeing RE in August 2011
5 IUIs: BFN; IVF #1 - Success! BFP - 7/25/12
I was gonna say....that actually doesn't sound too bad! Also keep in mind that growth ultrasounds can be less reliable the closer you are to the end. On the day of my C-section, my babies were estimated to be around 5 1/2 lbs and 4 lbs....they were 6 1/2 and 5 lbs (35w4d). We were shocked that the u/s was off by a whole pound!
I'm glad to hear everything else is looking good...hang in there and keep cooking babies as long as you can!
