Should I send another follow up today?

WWYD?

I interviewed two Tuesdays ago.  At the end of the interview the hiring manager told me that I would be hearing back from them in the "next few days."

I sent thank you emails to everyone that I met.    I received two positive responses to those emails one from the hiring manager stating that they would provide me feedback regarding the position in the "near future."  That was a little over a week ago.

So I am very eager to know if I am still a candidate.  Do you think it is too pushy to email the HR contact today to inquire about the status of the candidate search?

I think you should give it more time.  HR processes never really happen in the "near future."  It can take a while even if they want to move forward right away.

Summer is a rough time to get anything done, I'd waiting till Tue/Wed of next week

I agree w/this.  I also think the process never goes as quickly as they think it will, and in the summer it will be even longer.  No harm in following up mid-week next week though.

  • Agree with the other PP's. Summer time tends to grind everything to a halt. I would try back middle of next week.

  • I have done a lot of hiring in the last year and as much as I try and move the process along it's never as quick as I think it should be.  I do try and give a drop dead date where we will know come hell or high water but give them some time.  You don't know where in the que you were in the list of people being interviewed.  Nothing irritates me more than people calling to check the status.

  • I would...I think 2 weeks is a long enough a time. There is tons of competition and I would show the interest.
  • I wouldn't. At this point they are either not interested or they have nothing to say yet (still processing other candidates etc). Either way the f/u won't give you much clarity IMO. Just treat it like you didn't get it unless you hear otherwise.
  • I wouldn't inquire so soon after your last email.  If they told you they would get back to you (twice now) anything more may come off as "too much" Give it some time and see what happens.
