I posted about this once (maybe on my BMB) and I think most readers thought I was nuts lol. I have "smell cravings" anything that smells really strong I want to just stand there and smell it. Luckily not anything dangerous like chemicals or gas. I did have an urge to sniff bleach the other day after I smelled it going into the washer (I didn't though!) Mostly I like things like soap and detergent. I go in the bathroom when my husband showers just to sniff his soap sometimes! haha
They call this Pica and it's usually related to low iron levels, but I know I've never been low(OB checks it), it's just a standard pregnancy thing for me. Anyways you usually get the urge to smell or taste weird non-food things(like gasoline, concrete, etc) or chew ice. It's not dangerous in itself so long as you aren't actually doing those things. Except for the ice, I personally eat a lot of ice when pregnant, but I figure that's relatively harmless
Due with #5 April 22, 2015. It's a girl!!!!!
Yes it was planned, yes we know what causes that, no we are not on public assistance, and yes we will be getting cable after this.

I knew of pica but I didn't know smell was also related....interesting
I love the smell of gasoline when pumping gas at the station I cannot help but to take one deep inhale. I think this is because I quit smoking cold Turkey in december because it started making me feel sick, And the smell of older trucks that use diesel and they just have that smell. Craved armhammer double duty kitty litter to. Controlled my self there ha ha. I knew it could be pica but I haven't actually ate or ingested anything dangerous. Ill have to bring that up to my OB I didn't know it was connected to iron levels.

I love the smell of gasoline and love chewing ice. Both are "signs" of PICA. But, my iron levels are normal, so I guess I'm just a weird-o.
You aren't alone
