Syncope

I was diagnosed with neurocardiogenic syncope 14 years ago.  I am TTC and on my first round of Clomid.  For several years, I had several episodes a month and have been on atenolol for 10 years and now only take it as needed.  Are there any moms out there who have dealt with NCS while pregnant?  Did you have many problems?  Also, I read that an epidural causes blood pressure to drop.  Is this true?  Are there an NCS moms who had an epidural with no problems?

Re: Syncope

  • Yes, an epidural can cause your BP to drop as everything relaxes. I don't know much about NCS, but your best bet would be to talk to one of the anesthesiologists at the hospital where you are going to deliver. Your OB should be able to help you get in touch with them. Good luck!
