Hello All!
Today I went for an ultrasound to see if baby girl is breech, well she is and it looks like I'm going to need a C-section. All I know right now is baby girl is head up, she is facing my spine, and her fluid is low. DH and I talked to the U/S dr. after our U/S. He doesn't want me to go past 39 weeks. So I guess I will have my cs next week. I'm just waiting for my dr. to call and let us know what the next step is.
I have so many questions, I don't know where to start.
Re: Intro
I'm having a c/s next Thursday! I'm terrified but I feel like I've researched, asked questions and read everything possible to understand what is going to happen. I had a naturl delivery with my son but it was scary and horribly painful so I'm not sure why I'm so scared of this! Lol. Hope it all works out with happy and healthy babies and safe, easy recoveries!!!
#1 - you're gonna be OK! It's nerve wracking, but having a cs when it's non-emergent is far better than an emergency one when everything is about speed. Write your questions down for your doctors, and ask away.
#2 - try to walk as soon as you can after. Don't hurt yourself in trying, but you will heal so much more efficiently if you can get up and moving quickly. Short walks around the floor as often as you can will help your circulation and keep you from "stiffening up" for lack of a better description.
#3 - try not to google too much. Ask questions of your care team, but avoid over educating yourself via the internet. That's never good for the mind when you're nervous.
#4 - good luck and bright blessings!
My advice and tips would be:
1. If you have two story home, bring all your necessities down to the first floor. Stairs are a no no for 2 to 3 weeks.
2. Accept help. I had a hard with this as I'm stubborn and independent. But I eventually had to stop trying to do it all. It's not possible. Taking care of a newborn while recovering isn't easy.
3. Ditto pp get up and walk as soon as they'll let you. It hurts like heck, but so important.
4. Take collace stool softeners. And buy several packs of high waisted granny pannies. You won't want anything near your incision for a long time.
5. Remember to love on that baby!! It flies by!
Good luck. ::mobile smiley::
