Now that we know LO is a girl, we can focus in girl's names. Unfortunately out taste seems to be all over the board.
I've mentioned it before, but I'm a big fan of Bible, and of more unique, not YooNeek, names.
I recently came across Adah, which is a Biblical name meaning "ornament". Nothing too special about the name, not a good "character" name, but I kinda like it anyways.
What's this board's take on Adah?
It strikes me as kinda trendy, and might come across as "trying too hard". On the other hand, I think it's pretty, unique, and would age well. Or will at least age better than the YooNeek names that lots of people use these days.
It's not in our top 2 picks right now, but at least in my top 5, not sure how DH feels.
Re: Unique, Classic, Trendy, or Odd?
That's what it sounds like in my mind. Not sure if the "official" pronunciation. ::mobile embarrassed smiley::
I agree, I really like Ada (minus the h)
ETA: same pronunciation however.
It's a good name.
This for me too.
This. That 'h' is messing with how I pronounce it, and I want to say it "a-duh".
I think the Hebrew pronounciation would be uh-DAH. But, I'm sure everyone would do AY-duh.
I remember seeing this in lists of Hebrew names when we were looking for a one for our son.
"A new baby is like the beginning of all things--wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities."
Agree. The "h" makes it weird, but it's cute without the "h"
