XP: Talk to me about Viagra

Not in a fun way.

The viagra suppositories.  Apparently they are on my protocol for this August FET.  I say apparently because I still don't have my protocol (RAWR), but the pharmacy called to place my order.  HOLY CRAP they are expensive!  Adding them on top of being 100% OOP is putting me over the edge!

When during a FET cycle are the viagra suppositories used?   I asked them to send my order without them.  If it's something that's not used until later in the cycle, I want to wait just in case I get cancelled again.  If I need them at the start of the cycle, obviously I'll go ahead and get them.  But since I don't have my protocol yet, I have no clue.

Anyone who has used them, I'd love to hear your experience.  Is my vag going to turn blue?  I like smurfs, but not that much!

Sorry about the surprise extra cost. I don't know much about Viagra supps but I remember Crystal talking about it. GL with your FET!

It's a compound of estrogen and Viagra into a torpedo looking silicone like suppository. No they aren't blue like the estrogen smurf pills lol. I started them at the beginning of my cycle. I hate to say it but they didn't work for me at all. I believe there was another lady, Lincoln, I think that took them the same time as me that didn't have much improvement either. Obviously it works for some or they wouldn't use it. I just used liners and it worked fine for the mess. I think I remember paying something like. 12/each. I had the same problem as you that I always bled before I could get to et and 6 months and 3 cancelled cycles the only thing that worked was taking stims. It is rare but some women can only build a lining with the natural estrogen your ovaries make. I took bravelle and menopur and got the best lining I have ever had. We tried just bravelle the first time but my lining never got above a 6 I think. Menopur is supposed to help with lining and it did. It's more expensive than the bravelle which is why we used both instead of straight menopur. I took 3 vials of each for 14 nights give or take. The only positive thing the Viagra did for me was bring extreme blood flow to the nether regions that made sex amazing but as far as a lining it didn't do jack I still bled. Thank you soooo much for the insight.  I've followed your story in the past and always wondered if stimming for me may work, too.  I still have Follistim left from my fresh cycle, so if this doesn't work, I'm going to inquire about that.  I never had lining problems with any of my treatment cycles.  I'm also excited to know that I will not have smurf vag!

I was on them too after I asked about them at my RE office.  My RE never recommended them but was ok with me trying them if I wanted to for FET#1.  They didn't help my lining unfortunately because my is thin (I don't have the same bleeding problem as you do).  For FET#2, my lining got up to 7mm with the following changes: added vaginal estrace (now that's blue), endometrial scratch biopsy, baby aspirin, and omega-3.  I hope you have better success with the viagra I did.  I agree with what Crystal said.  I put it in just before getting into bed every night.  It was expensive and also had to be refridgerated.  GL!!
