I'm sure I'm probably one of the few, but I'm really hoping Kate and William pick a name that is not on our list..and especially not our front runners right now. We try to avoid the really popular trendy names and I have a feeling whatever name they choose will have a sudden rise in popularity. I really just don't want to be considered to have followed in their footsteps and named our baby after the royal baby.
Re: Royal Baby Name
Huge hugs for making it through this last week, I'm glad you have the belly to rub and help you get through the edd!
I agree. I love the royals but I definitely don't want them to use one of my names
I heard that there are women in London who had babies recently that haven't named them yet because they are waiting for Kate to have hers. crazy.
The OP's comments make sense. These women in London do not. I would be truly surprised if they chose our names. While totally normal names, they are not "royal" names.
DD is Kathryn (although we never call her that--she's just Kate), and she was born less than a year after the Royal Wedding. Throw in that her middle name is Adele (a name DH has loved forever), and I'm pretty sure some of my friends and family think we're obsessed with all things British.
It's pretty crazy over there right now. After living in the UK for 11 years, I'm not surprised that there are people who haven't named their kids yet in the hopes they can find out the royal baby name and use it. Just like I'm not surprised there are a ton of kids called Chardonnay, Mercedes and the newest one is Channing (after Channing Tatum). They are celeb obsessed over there!!!
We haven't spent loads of time on names, a few thrown around here and there but are mostly waiting until 7-8 months to short list and then when the LO is here to see what we feel he or she should be called. We do have one boys name shortlisted already and it'll either be a first or middle name - William (of course) - which is DH's Dads name and he passed away 11 years ago.
