Hello everyone! I am new to posting on here and seem to be posting my post in ALL the wrong places, as everyone is so kind to point out
I'll share my story, anyway, and maybe someone an relate to what I am going through.
My husband and I were trying to conceive and after a few months, I decided to see my doctor to make sure everything looked alright. My biggest concern, and I am not proud to say this, was that years ago, I'd had an abortion because me and my now-husband did not feel we were at a good place in our lives or relationship to have a baby. Of course, I regret this choice more than ever, but I cannot change my past. I told my doctor and she was very kind and very proactive in scheduling an SIS. Unfortunately, hardly any saline made it through so she was unable to see much, but clearly there was blockage, so we moved forward with scheduling a laparoscopy.
I had that done last week, and when she injected the dye, she said it did not flow through my right tube, but also couldn't see blockage, so nothing was done to unblock it. I asked her if this was due to the abortion and she said no. I also asked if there was still a good chance I could conceive, and she said yes, my left tube was fine. I'm frustrated not knowing what the blockage is and if it's always been there (if so, then I will feel a little more confident that I was able to get pregnant years ago).
I also want to encourage my husband to have his sperm tested, just to rule out that there could be any issues with him, as well as myself. I am just wondering if anyone else out there has been able to get pregnant with one "functioning" fallopian tube, and your experience.
And anyone who feels the urge to reprimand me for my past decisions, I beg you to not to; I'm already giving myself a hard enough time Thank you and I appreciate anything you have to share!!
Re: TTC - one blocked fallopian tube
Yes, there are plenty of people who've gotten pg with just one Fallopian tube. I encourage you to check out the TTGP or the TTC boards, even the trouble TTC boards, lurk around for a while to see if they're a comfortable place for you, then start posting.
A semen analysis for your H is an easy, relatively cheap test that you can do to make sure he's OK and to have a clearer path moving forward. My mantra is, knowledge is power. You'll have the info you need to make more informed decisions moving on.
