If any of you are in California, do you know if the SDI and PFL amounts are calculated based on pre-tax wages during the base period, or actual take home? I can't find this info anywhere, and of course the phone lines have long waits.
Thanks so much!

Re: California paid leave question
They're calculated based on your gross wages. They're also not calculated based on the period you'd expect - I was due in February, and it was calculated based on the income of the prior 12 months ended in September.
Good luck with figuring everything out..It's a lot to navigate!
Thanks! It is pretty wonky. I'll start my claim in November '13, and based on the info I found, it will be based on my wages for the 12 month period ending June '13. It is based on your highest quarterly earning in the 12 month period, correct?I got a raise in December '12, so I'd think that the wages I've been getting since then is what they'd calculate it on. Why do they have to make this so difficult?! Ha!
