Who is potty training?

How is it going?

I've had dd in panties ft except for naps and bed since Saturday.  She was peeing in her panties a little each time before alerting me that she had to potty but as of today seems to be stopping that.  I'm still trying to figure out naps.  I have no idea if she wakes dry bc she usually plays in her crib for awhile before I go get her.  I have to weigh whether dropping that diaper or having the extra time is more important ;)

We've been lucky not to have an accident in public yet. I'm sure she'll save her first for somewhere really epic.

Also, we drive a lot. I'm considering another potty chair to keep in the trunk. Anyone do this?

Re: Who is potty training?

  • We've been doing "lazy mode" potty training for a little over a month. ( I think they're a little more consistent at DC) We go sit on the potty every now and then on weekends and in the evenings. She'll sometimes tell me she needs to go potty and we get excited and run to the potty. We reward DD with stickers everytime she tells me she needs to go, goes pee, or is dry. We have special prizes for poo (books, toys and candy) but she has never gone #2 on the potty.

Sometimes she goes, sometimes she doesn't. We get excited when she goes and let her pick a sticker for her chart. if she doesn't we shrug it off and try again later.

  • Oh I totally stripped dd and let her pee on the ground at the park yesterday. Thank goodness we were the only ones there ;)

  • Tried pt about a month ago and she was super excited. Until she some how managed to fall off her potty and let her face break her fall. Now I have to keep the potty hidden in the closet.

Although, I'm out of swimmers and decided to put her in her swimsuit commando stlye and she didn't pee until we got out of the pool. That's something, right?
  • We've started TALKING about the potty again, but DS really shows no interest. I had decided to put it off until DD arrived because I didn't want to deal with regression, so hopefully we can start getting serious about it soon.

  • I bought a potty, does that count? It is in the closet.

The most "improvement" we have made is that when I am going to the bathroom, she tells me "its stinky". Thanks kid, I only peed!

When I change her diaper, she follows me to the bathroom to dump poo/put the diaper in the pail. She tells me "stinky go there" and points to the toilet.

So I know that she understands that the "stinkies" go in the toilet, but I honestly just do not have the energy to really go for it.

We were at the splash park last night and there were a lot of kids... and no bathrooms. I swear there was always a kid peeing behind a tree somewhere. Maybe I live in the ghetto? lol

  • And to answer the question, no, we're not potty training yet. Soon, though.

I finally brought the potty in from the garage. She likes to sit on it, but has yet to pee or poo in it. I think I'm going to give it a real shot once BIL leaves (whenever that may be)

  • We were ambitious and got DS 2 matching potty chairs for Christmas, one for each bathroom. And then I found a potty training Elmo doll, complete with underwear, his own little potty and a DVD. I was so excited.

But in reality, DS is just not ready yet. He'll answer me if I ask him whether his diaper is stinky or not, and he likes to watch DH pee, but that's the extent of it.

I'm not too worried, and definitely not ready to rush it at this point. Once my nanny job ends next month and we're staying home again, I plan to slowly introduce the potty and see where we get with it.

  • We have been practicing with Logan and he has taken to it. Pooped and pees in his potty but we still are not officially potty trained yet.

For the pool and the beach he does not wear swim diapers no need he has not had a accident. So we are grateful on that.

I'm not worried about it. I know he will be ready at his own pace. :)

Yes though we do plan to have a travel potty. That's just mandatory for emergencies lol
