So I'm looking through stuff on Zulily today and I see this delivery gown:
What is with the ties at the front? I am just laughing hysterically at the thought of walking around in that. Someone please explain the functionality of it because I just see a woman walking around the halls laboring in this thing with all her goods displayed through the cracks.
Re: Is this thing for real?
I'm sure the ties are to make it easier for the nurses to put on/remove/check the monitors. Also, I'm betting that someone could probably tie that tight enough to walk around in the hospital with that on.
I like hospital gowns. I don't like getting blood on my own things....
I've never labored, nor will I ever (my doc doesn't even want me going into labor due to r-c/s), so I don't really know what women do while they're laboring. But I can't even imagine wanting to walk around in that, especially in the pain of laboring. I don't know what the designer was thinking, but I'm not a designer either.
That makes sense. It would be easy access to the monitors.
You don't know what women do while they're laboring because you had a c/s? Huh?
OP, do they sell the outfit with stripper heels? Because that would look fantastic struttin down the halls at the hospital. FWIW, though, so few women walk in the halls anymore. Kind of sad, really.
Ehhh... since you're having twins, your labor might be a little longer. I'm thinking you need to get a 5th color just to round it out. You wouldn't want someone to see you walking the halls in the same outfit twice! :gasp: Clearly that would be sooo tacky.
I've never actually gone into labor. DD1 born at 32 weeks for extremely low fluid (never even felt a contraction). DD2 born at 36 weeks for low fluid and growth restriction. Also w/ DD2, I had gone into the hospital for contractions but they weren't doing anything to dilate me or anything. They did an ultrasound and saw that my fluid had dropped drastically from the previous day (had an u/s appt for fluid check), so the doc said I'd be having a c/s that night. So, no, I've never labored. I know my sister had a really tough labor with her first one. I know it's painful, but I've never experienced it.
Oh gosh! I'm so glad you pointed that out. Let me go order more before you all buy them all!
I get that you haven't gone through it b/c of c/s, makes perfect sense. I read it as you had no idea what labor was all about period (contractions, how your body gets a baby out, etc)... which seems/seemed strange to me since most men and women have a general idea of it LONG before they have babies of their own (from TV, hearing about it, etc). Not snarky, just confused as to whether or not that's what you really meant.
