The last day of my period was July 6 we had sex the 7 th next day later in the week I was feeling nauseous and totally tired now a week later my breasts are sore and last night I was lightly spotting. This am I was still lightly spotting. Is this implantation bleeding or am I just getting another period? Any thoughts?

This is what I read off of mayoclinic.com
Is implantation bleeding normal in early pregnancy?

Answer
from Roger W. Harms, M.D.

Implantation bleeding typically defined as bleeding that occurs 10 to 14 days after conception is normal and relatively common.

Implantation bleeding is thought to happen when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. Implantation bleeding usually occurs around the time you would expect to have a menstrual period. However, implantation bleeding generally lasts for a short time and is usually much lighter than menstrual bleeding.

  • My thoughts?

Take your full name out of your siggy.

Oh, and you won't know if it's IB until you get a + HPT.

  • I thought I deleted my siggy urgh. Sorry! Thank you for letting me know and for your response.
  • My advice? Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and learn how your body works.

Even if you conceived on the 7, it takes a fertilized egg 35 days to implant and you can't have symptoms before then.
Also, charting will help you know your fertile days and maximize your chances of getting pregnant. Don't count on always having a 28 day cycle either. Everyone's regular until they're not.

  • Ditto pp, you won't know until you take a HPT.  Implantation bleeding is not super common, and I know (from experience) not to put a ton of hope in spotting as a sign of pregnancy.  But test when you can and then you'll know.
