hand sucking, left hand only

Hi mommies, curious if your babies are doing this now? My baby just turned two months today and we have noticed he has been sucking on his left hand/fist for almost a week now. Its only his left hand he does this with and from what i have read online, it could he a sign of neurologicalbissues if they are favoring one side....not sure how accurate this can be.
Are your babes doing the same now and are they favoring one side over the other?

My LO is doing the same thing. She does favor her left but will occasionally suck on her right hand. Our pediatrician didn't see anything wrong with it. All he said was that was the hand she favors or found first.

My lo does and has since he was born. He tends to do it when he's about to have a fit bc he's hungry or he will to help sooth himself.

Somewhere in the gazillion baby development emails I get every week, it said that for hand sucking, the left is usually preferred. It didn't say why though!

My LO prefers the left, but occasionally sucks on the right, or both of them at the same time.

DS has been doing this, but it's not his whole fist, just thumb and first finger, sometimes he adds a second finger. I think it's cute!

True, google is great a making mommies like me paranoid.
I also receive countless emails on babymilestones but i dont recall ever reading that babies will begin sucking on the left hand, its comforting to know that it is something babies do. I will also bring it up with pedi tomorrow as we have a 2 month checkup with shots!!!!

I have sworn off google after my back arching freak out. I still haven't shaken off those fears completely and find myself over analyzing everything now. No more google!

On topic, my LO has developed a favoritism for the right hand while he waves the left around like a windmill, lol.

Me too... I have self diagnosed myself with certain rare diseases in the past because of google and webmd information overload that my.own MD has forbid me from uainf internet to research symptoms.
The only reason i researched my sons left handed favoritism was due to my own curiosity if he is foing to be left handed that is when i stumbled upon the scary info that is now worrying me.

I will post tomorrow what my babies pedi has to say about this topic. For now, i will try to relax.
