Anyone else here on/or was on Progesterone Supplements? I've been on them since I was 4 weeks and my Dr. told me to stop taking them at 12 weeks on Thursday. I asked her if I should "wean" off and she said no, just stop taking them. She warned me I may have a little bit of spotting, but I'm nervous to just come off of it cold turkey after taking it for 8 weeks daily.
Anyone else have this experience? Did you wean off of just stop taking them all at once?

Re: Progesterone Supplements
I did about 7 weeks and then I stopped at 12 weeks as I was told. I had some cramping and spotting; this is a common side effect.
Your placenta is supposed to take over progesterone production at 10 weeks.
I couldn't wean off for the plain reason that I had to do suppositories.
If you have any trouble, call your doctor.

I took Prometrium this pregnancy and when I was pregnant with my older son and Progesterone injections with my middle son. I stopped all around 10 weeks with no spotting or other issues. Don't worry...the progesterone is not what is keeping you pregnant, and the reason its ok to stop now is because your placenta has taken over progesterone production and is making plenty of it!
