Fisher Price Rock and Play- when to stop using

Hello! My son has been sleeping in a rock and play for the past month and it's helped increase how long he sleeps at night. I'm trying to figure out when to stop having him sleep in it and transition into something bigger (he's 3 months old). He's really long but doesn't yet roll over and can't sit up on his own yet.

Either by weight, or they can roll over or sit up on their own.

  • I just wouldn't wait too long because if he begins to out grow it and now you're trying to transition, it will be more difficult. It may take a few nights, but just be patient. I was scared to death to move to the crib and he actually did great and we all began to sleep better! Good luck!

  • We started transitioning out around 3 months. It took a few nights, as LO would sleep better in the RNP than his crib. We ended up putting him in the crib until around his midnight feeding and then he would go back into his RNP till early the next morning. We did this for about a week or two until he got used to his crib.

  • My daughter is 15 weeks and we just stopped using the RNP to sleep in at night about a week ago. She transitioned fine I was letting her nap in a large bassinet for a few days before we did the switch so she would get use to it and we had no problems. I think she was ready for more room anyways.
  • My DD will be 6 months on the 29th and is almost 19lbs. She sleeps in her crib 99.9 of the time...transitioned from the rnp to the pnp with wedge to crib with wedge over the course of 6 weeks. Anyway, she has a severe upper respiratory infection and is back in her rnp in our room. It's where I feel comfortable with her until we get over this bump in the road. So I say, do what you feel is best. I am a firm believer in mother's intuition! You will know when it's right to move your LO :
