Not really a baby problem...traffic ticket?

I just recently got a traffic ticket at a local town(not a trooper). The last time I got one(over 10 years ago), I could just plea down to a fine and no points on my license. Is this still true? I really don't care about the fine, just would prefer no points on my license.
