Desperate 3y/o having accidents

I don't know what to do!! He's been potty trained at least a year and the last few months he will do everything he's supposed to then he'll have a week where he holds his poop and then has accidents. Well it's to the point his preschool called me today and said they can't have him doing that, which I understand. I really don't know what to do!! When I ask why, he says he just doesn't want to go potty. We've taken toys away.  We've tried everything. Any ideas??

Have you talked to the pediatrician?  Could it be a constipation issue?

Go back to a rewards system?  I wouldn't punish him exactly, but maybe you'll have to return to the days of timed potty breaks and interreupting his play every 45 minutes to go potty.  I'm not sure what to do.  Does daycare have suggestions?
