ET Done!

Our transfer went great. We transferred 1 day 5 4AA Blastocyst. We went in with the decision to transfer 2. The embryologist comes in and says ok we have one 4AA blastocyst to transfer. I start to get all hot and upset bc we decided on 2 DH and I so I tell him I think we want to do 2. He goes through reasons why 1 would be better. RE comes in and says we will do whatever you want to do but we would like to avoid multiples and transferring 2 does not up your chances. So DH and I talk privately I get all emotional bc it's a huge decision.
We decided on 1 while the RE pops in.
We are super excited and happy, but when I got home I was super emotional about whether we made he right decision for us. Its so hard.

    Don't stress it girlfriend!!!  You guys did the right thing!!  We transferred 2 because we WANT multiples.  Badly.  Even wanted that before IF.  Sounds like you guys made a good decision so now just enjoy being PUPO!!!

    I think you made an excellent decision. It's true that transferring two doesn't bring your chances of pregnancy up, it only brings your chances of multiples up. That's how my RE describes it. It is a huge decision, but hopefully they can freeze the other embie and then you can use it later. How many do you have to freeze? 

    While it's a very personal decision, the risks with a twin pregnancy are definitely very high (I do a lot of side work in the childbirth business as a side job). If you are relatively young, and relatively healthy, your chances of achieving pregnancy with the transfer of 1 is quite good. Hang in there, and I'll be thinking of you. You are on your way!

    The exact thing thing happened to us when we went into our first ET. WE ended up doing SET and I questioned my judgement for days...until I got the BFP! FX it snuggles in!

    Me: 33 DH: 32 SA#1 low count (6mil) SA#2- now in IUI range!(30mil) Dx:MFI
    11/1- IUI#1,12/1- IUI#2, 1/2- IUI#3 all BFFN
    IVF#1. Long Lupron.ER 3/8 10R,4M,5F. ET 3/3-one 1AB, 2 frosties 5dp5dt-BFP!! Beta 3/25-794 Beta 3/27- 1794
    First u/s 4/8 saw hb. 4/22 missed mc 8w3d. d&c 4/26
    FET #1- bcp start 6/9. ET 7/12. 2 perfect blasts.5dpt-BFP!! 
    Beta 7/24 -1,239!! Beta 7/26- 2569 Beta 7/29- 7120.  U/S 8/7 hb 118! U/S 8/14 hb 143! U/S 8/20 hb 170. Graduated!! Stick baby stick!

    One more thing - you never know if it might split. Identical twin rates are slightly higher with IVF. :)

    Congrats on your transfer and being PUPO!!

    TTC since 9/2011. DH - 32, me 32.

    IUI#1 (natural): BFN; IUI#2 (clomid): BFN; IUI#3 (clomid and follistim): BFN.

    IVF #1 March 2013, freeze all (OHSS).

    FET#1 June: BFN

    FET#2 August: delayed due to thin lining (6.3).  Took a few months off to try and thicken the lining with lots of estrodial.  FET#2.2 December: Cancelled due to thin lining (4.8). Two frosties left.

    *New RE* Sonohystrogram and hystereoscopy done in Feb.

    IVF #2: ER 3/4/14  ET 3/7/14, transferred 3, 3 day 9 cell perfect embryos.  No frosties.

    Beta #1 (14dp3dt) 504

    Beta #2 (21dp3dt) 11,561

    First ultrasound on 4/3/14 showed 3 sacs: one empty and two with beating hearts!!  At 7w2d, found out that one baby did not have a heartbeat anymore.  Praying that baby B makes it.  Baby B is a girl!

    EDD 11/25/14 BORN 11/29/14

    I know exactly how you feel on opposite foot. We were going in for two and I switched to one for fear of twins. I wondered if I made the right decision and even though it was negative I did. No regrets.

    IVF prep September 2013 cancelled due to Ovarian Cyst
    IVF #1 October 2013 Antagonistic Protocol with ICSI  ER 10/31/13 (18R 16M 11F- 6 blasts to freeze)
    ET delayed due to OHSS 
    FET scheduled for July 8. Delayed due to a crazy high TSH (it had been under control for YEARS!)
    FET #1 8/5/14 sET BFN

    I'm sure you made the right decision as well.  I think going back and forth like that is almost enough to say only do one.  We did that and then didn't have the option.  Enjoy being PUPO! And congrats :)
