Help me pick a conv. seat PLEASE

My daughter will soon be transitioning to a conv seat.  At her 6 mo checkup she weighed 19lb 3 oz which put her in 95% and height was 26.75in and in the 83%.  She will be 8 mos this mo on the 21st.  I wish I could say our budget was higher but I am definitely looking for deals on a good, comfy seat.

Seats considering so far

Graco MyRide 65 LX

First yrs TrueFit

Safety 1st Complete Air 70/ 65/ Chart Air 65

Evenflo Triumph DLX

Any other suggestions or reviews you could share?  I drive a Nissan Sentra btw.  I am just under information overload and I know hubby will not have the patience to go shop around so I am trying to get as much first hand info as I can on pros and cons of each seat.  We are trying to stay under $200.  Thanks for any input you can share!

    Safety 1st complete air.

We were torn between that and the Diono Radian RXT (which costs more).

We went to store and strapped her in both...she was happy in both and they were very comparable safety and comfort wise.

  • You could always check out "Car Seats For The Littles" on Facebook, the carseat techs on there give great advice.

  • Instead of the MyRide I would look at the Graco Size4Me/MySize/Headwise.  They are all the same seat just sold under different names depending on fabrics and who carries it.  It has the highest rear facing limit on the market and will last you the absolute longest of any other seat (exception maybe the Foonf).  Super easy to install and priced between $150-180.  Babies R Us and Target have them in the stores if you want to see it in person.
  • I can't give you specific advice on any of them. One big piece of advice I can say is go to BRU and try them in your car. You would be surprised how hard it can be to find the right fit for cars. When you go make sure you have a checklist to remind you of how to properly fit the carseat

One of these will last the longest.  I would take the True Fit off your list.  It's an awesome seat but the rear facing limit is only 35 lbs so its not great for heavier kids.

  • I meant to edit but it DD'd. I have the Complete Air 65 and love it, but that's in my Santa Fe. If you have a Sentra I'd look at the Safety 1st Guide 65 or Evenflo Sureride. Both have extended RF but are more for smaller cars. We have the Guide 65 in DHs car RF and we love that it doesn't take room away from the seat in front of it.

  • Graco MySize - My 35 lb, 39" 3 yo is still rear facing in hers. Plus the seat still fit my 52" 7 yo forward facing.

  • Thank you for all the replies....I was leaning towards the safety 1st complete air from the beginning but do plan on going to BRU or BBB to strap her in and try in the car.  Now just to shop around for a sale

It's not going to fit in a Sentra, btw. It takes up too much room front to back with the angle the seat needs to be at rf. It's also not a great choice for a tall trending baby.

The previous suggestion of the Graco MySize/Headwise/Size4Me is actually good, and there are coupons to be had for it for online shopping. The Radian with angle adjuster absolutely will fit. So will the Nextfit and Foonf, but then we're getting out of a comfortable budget range.

  • Actually, off your list the True Fit is likely the only one that would fit, but you'll max out the weight too soon on it.
  • We have the Britax roundabout and love it. It is rear facing to 40 lbs and front facing till 55. I am not sure off the top of my head about the height requirements. It was $150 on amazon and qualifies for two day shipping if you have a prime membership.
