  • I want to paint the walls grey maybe with one wall having white large horizontal stripes. And then if it's a boy have grey and teal colors through out and if its a girl grey and hot/bright pink through out.

Here is the link to my baby board on facebook lots of pins of nurseries I love there.

I'm doing something similar. Boy will be greenish and girl be a baby pink instead.

I'm doing a hippo and bird themed nursery. Inspired because they are my two favorite animals. We are not painting walls since this is a rental and we'll likely move when baby is 9 months old.

Walls are beige, but it's an ugly pinky peachy beige. I'll be using the dresser I had as a kid with a changing pad on top. White crib.

My mom is making the bedding and curtains using fabric from our wedding. It's a soft green with white polls dots. It'll be the curtains and the outside fabric of the bumper pads. The interior of the bumper pads will be white with brightly colored birds in pinks and oranges. We are doing a crib skirt in pink with an orange bottom border, and we may or may not appliqu some birds or hippos onto the skirt.

I'm getting a wall decal of a hippo with a bird on its back for the wall, probably going above the crib. There will be a rocker, recliner, glider in the corner. Hippos will be scattered all over the room: night light, stuffed animals, art work, etc.

I also bought a wall mounted white wire picture holder at Pier1 where you slip photos into wire birds. There are 12 openings and I will put a photo of Baby each month for the first year. That'll go in the room somewhere.

Not that I've put any thought into this... ::mobile smiley::

  • My husband and I are both horse lovers, so it is very easy to decide how to decorate our nursery!  I have pinned a bunch of stuff, but the one I like best is a combination of cow print and red, white, and blue bandana prints (three different not one with three colors).

I am hoping to make it work for either/or even though we are finding out the sex.  I suppose if we find out it is a girl we will do more sparkles and girly stuff, but it will be a little western either way Smile

Just followed and stalked ur baby board! My baby board is private till I 'come out' only immediate family and bffs know!
  • We found out today that we are having a boy. I am not a fan of baby blue, and DD's room has a lot of turquoise in it, so I am going to avoid the traditional blues altogether. I like yellow and gray or navy and lime/apple green.

My plan is the same as it was for DD's room: I'm going to find a coordinating set of fabrics that I like and use those as the room's inspiration. I've been scouring Craigslist to find a cheap dresser that I can revamp (I'd like to paint it gray). I think I'll do some bunting in the fabric(s) I choose above the crib. The artwork might be fish/ocean inspired -- my H loves to fish, and we are from Florida. Otherwise, I'm still brainstorming...

  • I've got nothing!  What makes it worse is that I told DH we need to paint DD's room BEFORE we do the nursery - she had an adorable room at the old house and we haven't done anythign to her room since we've moved... in December... of 2011.  Pathetic.  I am hoping after the a/s and we find out the sex I'll be more into decorating and planning and such.  If not, it'll be beige with beige walls, a beige ceiling, and beige carpet... like pretty much every room in the house.  Ughh!

  • We are trying to buy a house.
My whole style is modern, grey, charcoal, glass etc. with Art Deco pieces, replica 50s furniture and a bit if a hipster twist.

Baby's room will prob be a blueish charcoal, cream, natural wood, eg wood crib, cream chair, fluffy rug. Or light grey and yellow, chevron, Art Deco lamp.

I don't really plan on decorating it as a nursery as such. Adult furniture, except for the crib. I want a room they can really grow into.

And def gender neutral. As much as I love pink and bows and frills, I want me child to be whoever they want to be.
