This name is on our list for DS2 and I am in the same boat about spelling. Interested to hear the responses. Think I'm leaning towards the traditional Colin, but every so often I think Collin is better.
I honestly didn't even know that people spelled it Collin until I received over five comments about the "two Ls" being the best way to spell it...
I had no idea either until I got here. Colin was much more common when I was growing up and is still higher on the SSA charts. When a spelling is more common AND the original spelling, that's what I'd go with.

seems to be kind of split here, too. i see both sides. if it is the name we pick, i'm sure going to stress about it lol. it has always been one of my favorite names, but my H nixed it before i was pregnant. now, though, he's coming around and saying he likes it, so it got me excited!
Re: Colin or Collin?

I much prefer Collin. It's my nephew's name and we have no pronunciation issues.
When I see Colin I immediately think Colin Powell, so I use the "colon" pronunciation.
Colin Powell!
