I know that it makes sense to chart when you're having trouble getting pregnant, but as someone who hasn't even starter trying, it all seems very complicated and overwhelming. I would love to hear something positive from those of you that are just simply having sex and hoping for the best! Also would love to hear positive stories from those that didn't chart.
Re: Anyone?
Plenty of people get pg without charting. You can certainly go the - see what happens route. For some it works, others it doesn't.
However, with that said, knowing that it can take a healthy couple a year to conceive, often times after a few months of "we'll see what happens" being un-successful, it is not uncommon for people to turn to tracking and charting.
You can certainly take it slow, starting off with reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility and the tutorials on Fertility Friend and go from there.
Good luck!

I don't have a positive experience to share, but I will echo that many women do get pregnant without charting.
When we started TTC, I thought we would do the "let's just have sex and see what happens" approach. After the first month, I realized that I didn't like not knowing where I was at in my cycle. I started charting right before the start of my second cycle of TTC.
Charting really isn't as complicated as it seems at first glance. FF has some great tutorials. If you decide that you want to ease into charting, you might want to just start with putting in your period to track cycle length. You can then add things like CM, OPKs, and temps as you feel comfortable.

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
Well, last Dec my hubby and I tried for the first time TTC. We had sex once that month and got pregnant. I only used an OPK that month. We ended up having a MC in Feb.
We have been TTC now for 3 cycles post MC and I temp, chart, OPKs, CBFM and nothing.
You never know how short or long it is going to take. I was not expecting the first time to be pregnant, I told hubby it would take months, especially since we are me 39 hubby 41.
It can take a healthy couple a year to get pregnant if you are under 35, if you ( the woman) is over 35 if you are not pregnant in 6 months of TTC than you should talk to your Dr.
I decided to temp, chart, ect due to our age. I did not want to take a guess every month that we might hit the right time frame. Even with the right time frame you still only have a 20% chance of getting pregnant in a month.
You should read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, I heard it is a good book to read, I just ordered a copy today actually since I have been putting it off. Once you start hearing what others have to say and you should sign up for fertility friend and they give good tutorials on how to temp ect. It does not take long to figure out how to do everything.
Good luck to you hope I have given you some useful information
My friends did not start charting unless they were trying for over 6 months. We are anywhere from 31 to 40 years old.
DH and I decided we are taking out my IUD. I don't plan on charting. I'm a firm believer in the idea that things will happen when they should. That being said, I also got KU with DD the first cycle after going off BC.
I agree with you.. as someone who just started.. I think just having sex every other day should do the trick. It seems like some people on here are super chart obsessed and believe its the only way to conceive. I personally decided I would buy a ClearBlue Ovulation kit - which is just like a PG test. You pee on the stick once a day - same time ish, and you either get a happy face if you are ovulating or an empty circle if you are not. I did this cause I've been on the pill for about 15 years, and I was unsure if/when I ovulate. Since I havent gotten a period since going off the pill it would be my little tracker for when to take a PG test. this might help you, and its not complicated at all. I've only done the ovulation stick for 4 days. No smiley face yet!
Hope this helps. Oh.. and my girlfriends all swear that they got pregnant using the strips cause it tells you (with the smiley face) have sex.. you'll conceive. I guess if you're not just having sex every other day (thats what my doctor suggested) then its harder to time sex.
Happy Baby making!!
How wonderful for you. Millions of couples aren't that lucky.
