flutters on one side?

I am having mo/mo twins and I think I have starting feeling flutters. I wasn't sure at 1st, but I feel it about 2-3 times a day always on the left side. My question is, can both babies be on that side of the sac? I never feel it on the right. Should I worry? I go back to the high risk OB on Tuesday. I am just so nervous and question everything. Thanks your your thoughts!

I still feel movement almost exclusively on my right side. My doctor said this is common with twins.

  • Yes, especially if you have an anterior placenta. my girls were facing each other so i only felt movement from what i thought was one, but was really both. but mention it to your doc and they will like monitor you just to be safe.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

  • I have mo/di twins and I almost always feel all movement on my left side. The u/s have shown that its because both kiddos have their feet on that side so they just kick each other all the time.

  • Thanks for the help! I am not sure about an anterior placenta. They haven't mentioned that, but I will ask more tomorrow when I go. I know that in all my u/s they seem to be right up next to each other, so maybe that is it.

  • I felt movement on one side a while before feeling it on the other. Even now at 30 weeks, I feel much more movement on one side than the other.

I only felt movement on the right side up until the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy. The dr it had to do with the positioning of my twin b. He was turned, facing my right side, so his arms and legs movement would primarily be felt on that side, even though his body was on my left. Not sure if that makes sense, but with twins, there is so little room, so it's hard to feel which is moving!

  • I had an anterior placenta (mono/di) and felt almost everything only on the left side because of their position and the position of the placenta :)
