Your first impression of Emmett?

Kicking this one around. I'm just not 100 on our current likes and both DH and I came up with and liked Emmett. Your thoughts and first impressions? Middle name suggestions are welcome

Ps if you are not a fan would you mind explaining why...just so I understand all there is to know about the name. Thanks :

I love Emmett.  If we ever have a boy, I'll try to convince DH again to use it.  He says it reminds him of Emmett Smith...

I think it's great, it's old fashioned and making a come back, it's classic, not trendy. I do know one, he is almost three and very sweet, I have heard people compliment his name.

It is nms, because it is trending with the girls. I know as many girls as boys with this name. Because of this, it doesn't seen like a Strong boys name to me.

Emmet reminds me of twilight! That's my first impression. I can't really talk though. If mine is a boy his name will be jasper. Not because of twilight. Just because I like the name.

NMS. It just sounds really country to me for some reason. I don't know why, I don't know any Emmetts.

Gonna show my age here, but I automatically think of Dr. Emmett Brown from the Back to the Future movies Christopher Lloyd's character. Then I think of the teenage character on Switched at Birth. I really like the name, but my son is Everett so too matchy for me.
I don't think Twilight at all because I've never read the books or seen the movies.

I really like it!  I read all the twilight books and still like the name.  I have never met anyone in real life named emmett.

You're kidding right? People really are using this name for girls?  

I like it just fine for a boy.

And I think if it is trending for girls then that is ridiculous. I've never heard of a girl Emmett.

I don't like it. But I grew up with family friends, Emmett, Barrett, Tivoli and Jemima. I actually like Jemima, but the other names where strange, to me, as a kid.

I love it. It's on our list. I think anyone who names their girl Emmett is ridiculous.

It's ok to me.  I immediately think of the people I know with this as a last name.

I don't know any in person, and I think of it only as a male's name. 

I like it, and it strikes me as a very strong, solid name.

That being said, the first thing I think of when I hear/see the name Emmett is Emmett Till.  Kind of an unfortunate association, although I doubt many others would make it.
