Scared about possible Mirena issue and pregnancy

Deep breath...I'm so scared I might be having a problem with my Mirena and possible pregnancy.  I've had my Mirena for 13 months and stopped breastfeeding in March.  I had a period almost 2 weeks ago (my 3rd period since I stopped breastfeeding).  It stopped and then a few days later, I had more cramping and a little more blood.  Ever since then, I've had cramping daily, side pain, and I feel like my uterus is expanding like I'm newly pregnant.  It's that tight stretching feeling...remember that?  I feel bloated, and I think my belly even looks bigger. Even though I shouldn't be pregnant since I just had a period, something isn't right, and I've taken 3 pregnancy tests...all negative.  I thought maybe my period was really implantation bleeding, miscarriage, or just random bleeding. I thought maybe my Mirena has become embedded or something...I don't know.

 

So, I talked to a nurse at my OBGYN office, and she thinks I should come in and have the doc take a look next week.  So, I'm waiting for them to call me back so we can schedule and appt.   I'm so worried!  We want another baby, but not for another couple of years.  What I'm really worried about is that this could be an ectopic pregnancy since that's common if you get pregnant with Mirena.

 

Exhale...the only person I've talked to about this is my husband because I don't want my family to worry and get me extra worried. They tend to do that. Thanks for reading.

For what it's worth, I just scheduled an appointment with my OB to get my Mirena taken out for EXACTLY the same reasons as you posted above.  I was having all kinds of pregnancy symptoms.  I was SOOOO convinced I was pregnant.  My skin was breaking out, I was bloated, crampy, nauseous, everything. It was awful (and SOOOO scary!)!!  

The weirdest part is that I've had my Mirena in since 6 wks pp and haven't had any symptoms like that.  They've subsided now, but I'm still going to get it removed.  For me a lot of it has to do with having PCOS, and I'm not totally convinced Mirena is the right BC for me.  I was perfectly happy on the pill before ttc my son, so I am planning on just going back on the pill.  

Just wanted to share due to the fact that I was SO convinced I was pregnant, but I wasn't.

Thank you for sharing!  I've totally convinced myself that I'm pregnant, and I made myself an appt with my doc for Tuesday.  Hopefully I'll get some answers then.
