Bug spray

What bug spray/repelant are you using on the kids? Our house backs up to water and the bugs/mosquitos are awful right now to the point that the kids can't even go outside for more than a few minutes. I've tried the basic OFF spray but it doesn't seem to be working.

Re: Bug spray

  • I make up a strange concoction- some water, a dash of white vinegar, a couple dashes of apple cider vinegar, then some drops of tea tree oil, peppermint oil and lavender. I put it in a spray bottle and squirt the kids. I walk the dogs in the woods and use the same stuff. No mosquito or ticks yet. I also spray the light when we're hanging out on the deck at night.

i've used california baby repellent the past 2 years and it typically works fine. it's a bit more $ but usually available at target. a little goes a long way.

The California Babies stuff is good, and I also really like the Badger Balm. I buy it in a stick and it's really easy to apply. It's expensive, but it works great and lasts forever.
