Beach

My family takes a vacation ever year to the beach. This year everyone planned to go to the beach near where we love so we don't have to travel since we have a 7 week old.
While its very nice of them...I'm still concerned. Any suggestions on taking a 7 week old to the beach? He is also breastfed. Which I guess I could pump ahead if time if needed.

Re: Beach

  • We are doing the beach in a few weeks. I am so excited. We have a little beach shade thing for him and a big one for us and will stay inside during peak sun. My 3 year old talks about going everyday!

  • I saw a cute idea in Pinterest. Bring the baby bathtub and fill it with water to keep your lo cool. I live in fl and have been wanting to do to the beach soon so I might try it.

We went to the beach over the 4th and had a great time. We just put M in the shade and continued to keep him cool with wet rags.

ETA: If you're BFing, just BF under one of the shaded tents that I mentioned if you're uncomfortable in public.

  • I live at the beach and have a 4 year old and an 8 week old. My 4 yo would not be happy not going to the beach so we have been several times.  I take a canopy to sit under as well as the Chico travel exercise pad.  My baby is very content out there, the noise of the ocean puts her to sleep.  I have plenty of water around to keep her cool if needed but generally it is cooler on the beach bc of the wind.  I breast feed too out there. I use a nursing cover and there is no problem.  I would be hesitant to pump bc then you have to worry about keeping the bottle cold.
