I think that there are probably more AEs that WP is not fessing up to. The ones she was 'busted' for may have been related to only her IP address at work, she may have others that she accessed from her home IP address.
I assume we will find out even more when the new system returns. Anyone else want to go ahead and walk that plank?
I would hope we won't find out more, because that would mean TB hasn't fixed the glitch that exposes IP addresses.
We don't know exactly what the rules will be for Mods.
I'm not totally against IP addresses being disclosed to Mods, but there needs to be ramifications, I'm not sure what those would be, should a Mod do something. Unfortunately mods are just community members, not employees...
I like that IP addresses can be seen for the sole purpose of preventing AEs.
Yeah, after I read some other threads, I realized that this was probably what people had in mind - Mods being able to see IPs to handle AEs, not them being public knowledge. Which I can get behind, so I retract my previous statement.
I would like Mods to be able to see ip addresses. Maybe not actually DO anything with them, but report the IP's to the bump godz. I also don't think brand new mods should have this power. I think that mods should have to prove themselves for a couple months or so before they are given this power. So maybe like, SR and JR mods.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like the idea that a mod can turn over someone's IP address to a buddy and let chaos loose. What if I offend someone and they get my IP address and hunt me down and harass me?Yeah, no thanks. I'm not sure what's worse, AE's or the potential for a rogue mod to pull a stunt like that.
Agreed. An IP address is essentially a digital fingerprint. It identifies your location and your service provider with potential for more. I don't like the idea of someone I don't know being able to have access to that.
