Parenting after a Loss

Napping...

DD is nearly 11 months old, and while I know it's early for her to be switching to just one nap a day, I feel like she's getting there already. She's taking a much better, later in the morning nap, and for two or two and a half hours. But then she isn't wanting to lay down again in the afternoon. Should I be trying to keep her at two naps, or let her take the much longer early afternoon nap she's trying now to take? How many naps are your littles taking?

Around 11 mo is when N started to transition to one longer nap -- but sometimes she takes one short AM nap and one long PM nap, while other days it is just one long nap.  I go with her signals -- if she is fussy and tired at 10am, it's likely a 2 nap day, but if she is ok until noon or so, then it's one nap.  I'm not sure how many naps she usually takes at daycare, but I know theyv'e said she skips one of them some days now.

This is almost exactly what's going on. She used to lie down around 10, but most days she just doesn't seem ready to lie down then, and will go down around noon for a much longer nap than she would've taken if I'd laid her down at 10. Thanks for sharing your experience!
