For mobile users: What to eat day before 3 hour GD test?
I just found out that I barely failed my 1 hr glucose screening. I will be going in tomorrow at 7am for my 3 hour test. I am not looking for suggestions to "trick" the test and pass, since this is a serious issue, but I don't want to eat anything this afternoon/tonight that will increase my risk of failing (assuming I do not truly have GD).
Any suggestions on what to eat? My doctors office gave me no guidance other than to fast 12 hours before my test (other than water).
Thanks!

Thanks! I think this is my plan too. Also, if your initials are JLW, we have the same initials. Too funny!
You do have to fast for the 3 hour. You don't for the one hour.
And many offices recommend that you carb load in the 2 days preceding the test to ensure that your body is primed to handle the large dose of glucose. Some offices don't recommend this approach. I have never seen advice to lower carb intake before the test, but I am certainly not an expert.
Your doctor will know what they recommend as the best approach, so I would start there.
This.
Also, some offices tell you to carb load before the 3 hour...so I would call your office and ask.
I'm definitely not looking to "trick" the test, I just don't want to do anything that will unnecessarily cause excess sugar in my blood that will push me over the limit.
Thanks, I'll give them a call back and see what they recommend.
They were before I got married but my husband's name is Matt. I am assuming yours is too? :: mobile smiley::
Sure is! too funny
My one hour is Thursday... Will let you know if I have to do the 3 hour and get any dieting details.
Thanks - I'm doing my 3 hour tomorrow morning so I have a call out to my doctor office. Good luck with your one hour!
