First weird comment...

I started in a new office yesterday and I was in a staff meeting this morning when someone said "are you expecting?" I said "yes". She said "Is this your first?" I said "No, this is 2 and 3." Her: "Wow, twins? Why?"

All I said was "They were spontaneous." and that was that. "Why?" hmmm.

I don't think she learned her "who, what, when, where, how"s in 1st grade!  "Why?" does not even make sense.  I get snarky when anyone asks me "how" anyway, but at least it makes sense!

Some people are just awkward and don't know what to say. I had a REALLY awkward (and offensive) one from one of my clients within days of finding out about our twins.

Her: "Are you excited?"

Me: "A little and I'm sure I will be, I'm just still in shock from finding out."

Her: "Well, don't worry if you don't feel happy about this. Most times one or both of them won't survive so you might just end up having one baby anyway."

WAY out of line, not to mention untrue.

WHHHAAAATTTT?? This is terrible!!! I also had a similar experience with a client. When I told him I was having twins, he said, "Doesn't something usually go wrong with twins? I had a nephew who lost both of his twins..." Ug. Go away. He stressed me out so bad. He aaaallways insisted on telling me about horror stories. So sorry you encountered that too!

OP, "Why?" is a new one on me! Haha!

Oh oh oh! You should have said "Why not??" That would have been a good comeback!

People say the most ridiculous things. Start getting your comebacks ready, because it's only just beginning. I thought my time of comments was coming to an end since the boys were getting bigger, and it was less obvious they were twins. Then I got pregnant with twin girls. So, you can only imagine the comments and stares I get when I tell people "yes, the girls are twins....and so are the boys." It's almost comical! lol!

 Oh my gosh. I usually give people a lot of leeway when it comes to saying ignorant stuff, but I feel like that comment is just unacceptable!

lol. people always give me the "omg, your done, a boy and a girl, two at once! great" and then the "you have NO idea what you're in for!". I didn't know I was going to have twins but i'm thankful that I am! people are so funny. it's pretty incredible to hear people's opinions...

ugh people are soooo stupid. I am getting sick of the "too bad its not b/g, you'd be done then" I'll admit I originally wanted b/g... but who are they to decide when I'm done???
