Re: Expecting Moms Check In, Week of July 9

  • 1) How far along are you? 30 weeks today

    2) Any appointments this week? Had my 30 week appointment with my OB already this morning and everything looks great!  Also had my weekly chiropractor appointment.

    3) How are you feeling?  Mostly good.  Baby gets into weird positions which makes it very uncomfortable at times, but it's usually fairly short lived.

    4) Any cravings or aversions? Craving sweet things.  I'm not picky though, almost anything works, lol!

    5) Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all? I did happen to meet a friend recently who had a successful VBAC with her DD (15 months ago).  It didn't affect my decision at all, but it's nice to know I have someone that I can call or text who understands the whole process!

    2) Any appointments this week? Nope - next week reg monthly appt

    3) How are you feeling?  Good - I am still in that sweet spot - morning sickness is a distant memory and the major discomfort has not started yet.

    4) Any cravings or aversions? Nothing either way.  Last time I wanted brown sugar pop tarts the entire pregnancy - this time I just want to not feel hungry :D

    5) Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all?  I don't.  I know a few ladies on my bmb that did, which gives me hope!

  • 1 How far along are you?
    39 weeks 1 day

    2 Any appointments this week?
Yesterday. We are doing good. But I am still high, hard and not at all open. Started EPO and I am going to do my best to have sex with DH as often as possible. Which sucks since its kinda really uncomfortable. But I want this baby out!

    3 How are you feeling?
Depressed after yesterdays appointment, uncomfortable, basicly done.

    4 Any cravings or aversions?
    I want everything I can't have.

5 Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all?
My MIL actually did. Of course she ended up with needing a hysterectomy from complications. Not the best outcome but she is supportive of me. In fact she will be in the room to help support me!

  • 1) How far along are you? 36 weeks...I'm getting close!

    2) Any appointments this week? Yes. Appointment tomorrow with a final u/s.  I'm hoping that it shows baby is head down and reasonable in size, but my midwife did say that unless the baby was in the 90+%, I would still be fine to try for a VBAC.

    3) How are you feeling?  I have a summer cold, so I'm coughing all night.  Every time I wake myself up (which is a lot) I have to pee.  Sleeping has not been going well.  But, aside from being tired and sick, I feel really good...I'm even still teaching classes at the gym!

    4) Any cravings or aversions?  I'd love to pig out on sweets, but I'm really watching my carbs/sugars in attempt to keep this baby smaller than DS2.

    5) Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all? I know 2 women who have had successful VBACs, and I hopeful I will part of that group soon!

    2) Any appointments this week? Saw the MW, had my GBS swab, and toured the hospital/ did my pure admission (we've moved since DD was born so differ hospital)

    3) How are you feeling? Pretty good! I've been swimming a lot in the evenings, and kicked DH out of our bed, and my sleep has improved so much!

    4) Any cravings or aversions? Not really, though I ate far too many pickles the other....I felt very cliche, haha.

    5) Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all? Yes, but I had my mind made up from the day DD was born. Most notably, my grandmother, who had a c section in the 40s and went on to have 5 VBACS.

  • I haven posted in quite a while but things are slowing down a bit at work so I have more time to participate!

1 How far along are you?
    34 weeks

    2 Any appointments this week?
Had one today! After measuring 4 weeks ahead last time I'm measuring right on track again. Baby must have been in a very weird position last time. Also excited that I will get to go past my due date if I make it that far. My doctor had said they would induce the week before, but now she is going on vacation that week so I can go to 41 weeks! So happy!!!

    3 How are you feeling?
Sore and swollen. Overdid it over the holiday, plus 3 days of 5 plus hours in the car were brutal! Finally can touch my legs without pain.

    4 Any cravings or aversions?
    Sweets, sweets, sweets!

5 Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all? Unfortunately, no.

    2) Any appointments this week? Tuesday

    3) How are you feeling? Great, still having allergy issues, but other than that I'm hitting the good point of things for me.

    4) Any cravings or aversions? I think I'm pretty much past aversions now, although I've not tried to eat bacon or chicken in the last little bit so I may still be having the aversions. I'm not a big craving girl - I didn't ever have them when I was pg with DS.

    5) Do you know anyone IRL who has had a VBAC attempt, successful or not, and has that swayed your decision at all?  I do. My DH was born via a successful VBAC.   I have always wanted a natural childbirth. I was very adamant about it with DS, but it wasn't to be with him. It seemed natural to me to attempt a VBAC rather than to schedule an RCS (unless there are complications etc that indicate it's safer for baby or me to have one), so I'd not say that it influenced me, but that it inspires me - especially since MIL's incision is a classical incision and they also used forceps in DH's delivery.
